Musk’s AI startup xAI raised $6 billion in series B funding, reaching a post-money valuation of $24 billion as investors bet big on challengers to companies like OpenAI in the intensifying AI race.
The funding round was backed by investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital, the company said in a blog post. The money will be used to take xAI’s first products to market, build advanced infrastructure and accelerate research and development of future technologies, xAI said.
Whether you like Elon or not the man is a genius, he can turn non-believers into believers… remember what happened after he bought Twitter before he turned it into X, he took away the blue check mark from celebrities and brands and said from now on you have to pay for the blue check marks, people where up in arms and said no way I can pay for the blue check mark.
Fast forward, the same people who were against the move to pay for the blue check mark, are now paying monthly subscriptions for the blue check mark next to their names. Musk even went further to introduce gold check marks for the brands.
Going back to my first point Musk use his X, a social media platform to market and amplify his other products and services such as Tesla, Starlink, Boring Company, and SpaceX and among others, he also acts as an unofficial spokesperson opt those brands.
