‘Rethabile Mohlala’s Opinion on State of Media in South Africa’
REAL TALK: South African FM radio stations are so unkind… the so called radio djs and personalities are losing their jobs in droves. The salaries that radio stations were paying radio presenters over the years are no longer sustainable. You need entrepreneurial skills to have a lasting career in the media and radio bosses want numbers and more business into the station. If you can’t deliver numbers and more business, what’s the point of having you behind the microphone? Gone are the days of back announcing tracks and telling people what time is, doesn’t cut it anymore… the audiences requires more and if you don’t have depth you will be exposed in no time says @Rethabilem.
